Grooming Policies and Waiver

Cancellation Policy: Appointments not cancelled or changed within 48 hours of appointment; a missed appointment fee will be charged. This advanced notice is needed to fill booked appointment slot to avoid loss of wages.  No show appointments will automatically be charged 75% of groom cost for loss of income. Multiple no shows will result in cancellation of future services.  

Grooming Waiver: Astraya Grooming Studio cannot be held liable for injury, medical, physical problems arising from the grooming process unless related directly to groomer negligence. 

Parasites: Flea free zone- extra fees may apply if parasites are discovered. Pets should be free of all parasites (worms, fleas mites etc.).

Physical Health: If you pet has a health concern such as skin infection, open wounds, fresh stitches, lesions or inability to stand, services may be refused or altered. Pets must not have contagious skin or health conditions (mange, bacterial skin infections, kennel cough etc.). Pets who have been sprayed with skunk are unable to be groomed in the salon. Vet services are recommended prior to grooming.  Disabilities should be discussed prior to appointment to accommodate the best appointment for pet (blindness, tripods etc.)

Coat Condition: Pets in poor coat conditions such as severe matting or undercoat impaction have greater risk for knicks, skin irritation or discovering of infection beneath coat. Groomer cannot be held liable for any issues arising from grooming a pet in a neglected coat and services may be halted and referred to vet.

Temperament: Groomer has right to refuse services or stop a groom in progress due to issues with temperament (overly fearful, aggressive, unruly) for the safety of pet and groomer. Temperament concerns MUST be discussed prior to appointment (such as a dog need muzzle for nails) to avoid groomers being maimed.  If a pet injures a groomer, owners will be held liable. Grooming on difficult pets may result in an imperfect grooming or early finish.

Other: Please notify groomer of any special needs or circumstances of pet in advance (such as prey drive, dog aggression, puppy first groom, senior, kennel anxiety etc.). 

Pick up and Drop off: Please wait to enter until appointment time. Late drop off may incur loss of appointments if over 15mins late. Late pick up may result in dog being kenneled while other services are provided, and a late fee added.  Pets must stay on leash, and accidents cleaned up. Beware of other pets entering and leaving the premises and caution of roaming chickens on site.
